Peggy Sattler is working to strengthen Ontario by fighting for accessible education, good jobs, and real solutions to the rising cost of living.
First elected in 2013, Peggy is a respected voice at Queen’s Park and a tireless advocate for students, workers, and families. She has led the charge for paid sick days, better protections for gig and contract workers, and paid leave for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
As the Ontario NDP’s Shadow Minister for Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence, and Security, Peggy is focused on reversing chronic underfunding, ensuring academic freedom, and strengthening Ontario’s post-secondary system as a driver of opportunity and innovation.
Peggy has long championed affordable housing, public health care, and climate action, and continues to push for policies that support Londoners facing rising costs.
Before becoming an MPP, Peggy served 13 years as a trustee with the Thames Valley District School Board — including two terms as Chair — and worked as Director of Policy at the London-based research firm Academica Group.
Peggy brings a wealth of experience, deep community roots, and a proven commitment to building a more equitable Ontario.
